Why walk today? Do the Green Thing has a video called "Gusty and Ford" that will remind you of the endless possibilities that walking presents. You could see strange and wonderful things that you wouldn't have seen otherwise. You could run into your middle school sweetheart, get it on in a tent, and find true love (just watch the video, k?). At the very least, you'll be doing a good thing for your body, and saving some carbon from entering the air...and that's reason enough, isn't it?

If your walk is successful, Do the Green Thing has 6 more ideas (and videos) for easy ways to green your life. Stick with what you've got: if your laptop, cell phone, digi-cam, etc is still working well, don't upgrade, even if the new model is smaller, and comes with a chartreuse tie-dye cover. Eat less meat; don't be a meat guzzler. Plug out: unplug your appliances and electronics, both at home and at work. Under-heat your home: use human heat to stay warm! Stay gounded: instead of a big plane flight, consider a staycation. It's better for your wallet and the atmosphere. Be all-consuming: use your pencil until it's gone, eat head to tail, use all your shampoo before buying more. You get the picture!
