READ MORE ABOUT:
Read about a pressing green issue (just about all of them, really) in the greenest way you can—in an E-book. William S Becker's provocatively titled 100 Day Action Plan to Save the Planet broaches a very timely subject in the greenest manner possible. The title refers to what the 44th president of the United States Mr. Barack Obama should do to confront climate issues in the first 100 days after taking office.
Of course, there are already a plethora of e-books available on environmental topics, but it seems like if you're unfamiliar with the format, this subject is among the most pertinent currently available.
According to MacMillian's press page, the book covers and outlines the following steps the next president should take upon entering office:
- Launch a "clean energy surge" and create a powerful new workforce of green manufacturing, supply, technology, management, and support jobs.
- End carbon subsidies that make fossil fuels much cheaper than their actual cost.
- Create a market by requiring all federal buildings, facilities, and transportation to be fueled by renewable green energy.
- Reward innovation and early adoption of renewable energy in the private sector.
- Work constructively with other nations for global solutions to the climate crisis.
And if you haven't gotten into e-books yet, it's well worth giving them a try—and they're often much cheaper (sometimes even free) than conventional hard or paperbacks.
