Once you've got your car or your bike or your bus (or your household's robot butler) running on biodiesel, here's where to find the fuel you need to keep things humming along. You can pinpoint a biodiesel retail pump near you, map out the green alterna-gas stops along a travel route you'll be taking, or even learn how to make your own biodiesel whenever, and wherever, you need it. Alternative fuels are becoming more and more economically smart as prices for conventional gas keep climbing, so getting the scoop on what you can put in your tank can make a difference for what you keep in your wallet.

  • To literally map your way to the nearest gas station with a biodiesel pump, check out the retailers page on the Biodiesel America website. (You'll also find pages there with info on suppliers who you can buy in bulk from, and on biodiesel co-ops made up of consumers who have banded together in order to buy big quantities of the alternative fuel for cheap rates.)

  • To "make your own biodiesel" along with green rocker Willie Nelson, you'll need a blender, some goggles, and some courage, but once you've got the process down, it's a really cool green skill to have.
