Global Inheritance
READ MORE ABOUT:
Who knew rock n’ roll, golf and greenies could make such a perfect pair? Leave it to our hip non-profit partner Global Inheritance to come up with such a quirky and cool concept.
The organization is again ramping up Coachella Arts and Music Festival’s green efforts by introducing a project called 18 & Up, a fleet of festival golf carts that will run on alternative energy. And just as they’re looking to you spruce up Coachella’s recycling bins, they’ want you to re-design the ordinary gas-chugging buggies into mean, green little machines running on solar, biodiesel, ethanol, wind and other alternative energy sources.
In the spirit of Coachella, they also want the wipe away the golf-course preppy look for one that’s more rock n’ roll by having each cart depict various genres of music.
If you want to help Global Inheritance paint Coachella green, here’s what to do:
- Decide whether you have the design and engineer skills to enter yourself. If not, round up some fellow artist and tech-y friends to collaborate with you.
- Get to work designing the ultimate rockin’ renewable-energy fueled golf cart. Make sure you have a realistic plan for execution.
- Submit your ideas, sketches, past work samples and targeted decade of music by February 25, 2009. Follow the guidelines here.
If you are accepted, you (or your group) will receive a stipend, a golf cart that’ll serve as your canvas and one very nice perk—VIP tickets to Coachella!
