Mark your calendars, motorists: April is National Car Care Month, and The Vinegar Institute has joined the Car Care Council to offer advice on how to make your vehicle sparkle and shine using the humble condiment.
Here are some of the tips they've provided on giving your car the full beauty treatment:
1. Wipe blades: To remove grime from the wiper blades and keep them clean, wipe the length of the blades with full-strength white distilled vinegar.
2. Windows: Spray or wipe three parts white distilled vinegar to one part water on windows to keep them frost-free. Repeat every few weeks to keep windows crystal clear.3. Carpet: Dilute white distilled vinegar with water and sponge it into your vehicle's carpet. Blot up to remove stains, ground-in dirt, and salt residue.
4. Bumper stickers: If you're ready to part with your once-prized bumper stickers, saturate the tops and sides of each sticker with full-strength white distilled vinegar and allow to soak through. Scrape them off with an expired credit card, and use additional vinegar to remove any remaining residue.
