There's no shame in being wrong, right?
Recently, on the appearance I made on CBS Early Show with the Zeller family, I reminded their teenage son Nick that all the cool girls have gone green and he really should find new girls to date if the ones he knows right now are impressed by the family SUV. I misspoke. In fact, according to a new study released by The U.S. Energy Department: it's not just the cool girls, its almost all girls! 88% percent of women surveyed would rather chat up a guy who drives a fuel efficient car than a dude tooling around in a sports car.
Is it a coincidence that only days after this information has come out that both GM and Ford have announced they are shuttering production on many truck and SUV lines and dare we hope...... perhaps even phasing out that environmental scourge The Hummer. So forgive me if I underestimated, now after reading this apology I suggest we all return to our desks and get back to working on a better car battery so we can win the 300 million dollars that Senator McCain has proposed offering. I know I could really use the money. What's the first thing I'd do with some of that cash? Give it to an organization that opposes drilling for oil in Alaska. I'm sure I don't need to tell you Planet Greeners that even if drilling started tomorrow it would take 20 years to see oil prices affected so it's really no solution. Right now, our best strategy seems to be WA$TE less, walk and use public transport more. I can't wait to see the new Honda on the road where I live in California, maybe one day we'll see our Governator stepping out of a Clarity! (Yes, I know you super eco-stars are aware that the battery powered hybrid is still the most carbon friendly technology available, but future generations of the fuel cell car could be the answer.)
