Seeking a way to help post-earthquake Haiti in a significant and long-lasting manner, I borrowed vegan extraordinaire Isa Chandra Moskowitz's idea and invited people in Boulder to help organize a vegan bake sale for Haiti. We would give at least half of the money to Fonkoze, a microfinance organization, with the idea that sustainable economic development in Haiti would allow for longer-term planning and construction that would leave the country less vulnerable to natural disasters in the first place. + VIEW SLIDESHOW
