We know you want to live a more DIY life—it's just that you don't have the time to weed through the hundreds of projects, directions, and ideas that crowd the internet every week. But don't worry: we have the time. Every Friday we bring you the best do-it-yourself plans we've seen over the last week, so you can spend your time doing projects instead of just searching for them.

The Object Project, a sewing blog, shows off this sweet clutch, made by tracing tea saucers onto coordinating fabrics and folding them. Since it doesn't require much fabric—about 1/4 yard of each pattern—you might even have enough scraps lying around already—which means you’ll be ready for your next tea party in no time at all. Ready to pack up your winter clothes in favor of tanks and capris? If you have a sweater that's too well-loved to survive another winter, repurpose it into these dining room chair covers from Re-Nest. They're easy, comfortable, and classic—and isn’t that why you loved that sweater in the first place?

The Threadbanger team rounds up their favorite Star Trek-inspired crafts from sites around the web: find instructions for making your own costumes, links to DIY etched character glasses, and even a blaster tutorial. Have your own favorite project to share? Enter it in the site's May contest.

Instructables user l8nite literally turns trash into treasure with this tutorial on making earrings and necklaces from shiny candy wrappers: just crinkle them into your favorite shapes, gloss, and attach with wire. Bonus: you have to do something with all that chocolate before you can get to the wrappers...
