On Wa$ted, an analysis of a couple's home revealed that their biggest energy hog was their water heater.

Traditional gas and electric water heaters are constantly debiting your bank account by keeping many gallons of hot water on standby at all times. All day, while the water temperature is trying to chill out, the heating elements are screaming, "NO! Be ready just in case!"

This is not the case with an on-demand water heaters. This tankless system is not paid to be on call.

On demand water heaters use a heat exchanger to deliver a high dose of electricity to the water only while it is being used. The electric current is so strong that it instantly heats water to its desired temperature in seconds. It gets the rest of the day off.

Adding an on-demand hot water heater instantly pays for itself by increasing the value of your home. It then goes to pay for itself over and over again through years of showering, doing laundry, washing dishes, etc
