Here's another weapon for your junk-mail-elimination arsenal: ProQuo, a free online service that allows you to remove yourself from the most-commonly used marketing lists, including coupons and weekly circulars, data brokers, telemarketing lists, and other directories.

Once you've signed up, you're presented with a smörgåsbord of places that may have your personal information on file. Mousing over an organization or list's image or logo reveals more information about the offending party. To tell an organizations to stop using your data, simply click the "Stop" button next to it, though some lists may require you to send in a written request, which you can download from ProQuo. You'll start to see a reduction in junk mail in around three weeks, says the site.

Similar to Catalog Choice, you can also choose whether you want to receive a particular catalog or not. What's in it for ProQuo? The company makes money from any catalogs or services you choose to subscribe to-we suppose that puts the ProQuo into quid pro quo. ::ProQuo
