If winter’s snowflakes or a recent vacation to sunny Florida has you sewers inspired to re-create nature, here’s a fun project for you.
CRAFT magazine has teamed up with SINGER, the famous and old-school sewing brand, to host The Sewing with Nature Contest.
Whip up something on your sewing machine that integrates organic elements and invokes your landscape of choice, and then post photos of it onto the contest’s Flickr group. If your entry garners an A-plus from the panel of judges, you’ll take home a SINGER sewing machine, a set of SINGER sewing books and the chance to have your project featured in the SINGER ad running in the spring issue of CRAFT.
If you place as one of the three runners-up, you’ll snag a SINGER dress form and a one year subscription to CRAFT.
Entries thus far include decorative newspaper snowflakes, leaf-printed tote bags, quilts and more. So get crafty fast! The contest runs now through February 4.
