Here's the dish on how you can reuse that old dish. I have five reuses for the dinner plates you love to hate.

  1. Create a history of hands. Have your children put their painted hand prints on your old dinner plates. Place them on the wall so they can enjoy their artistic creation for years to come.

  2. Frame your photos. Put your plates on the wall filled with your favorite family photos. Feel free to keep the plates up but change-out the photos to surprise your guests with new snapshots each time they visit.

  3. Make landscaping pebbles. Break your plates up into small pieces to create decorative rocks for your landscaping projects. These pebbles look great around fountains and most shrubbery.

  4. Keep your candles cozy. Don't let candle wax drip onto your fine furnishings. Place candles on old plates to prevent unwanted wax build up on your table tops.

  5. Reuse plates in a new place. If you absolutely can't reuse your old plates in your home re-design, enjoy them in a new space. Take them to your office and feast on dishes over and over again.
