When reusing an old bowl is your goal, turn to your favorite repurpose person for some great ideas. I've got five phenomenal reuses for bowls. They are quick and easy, but most importantly keep good stuff out of the garbage.

  1. Craft a candle. Fill a clean, empty bowl with hot wax and top it off with a wick to make a custom designed candle. Unless you turn it over, you’ll never have to worry about getting wax on your goodies. The bowl keeps accidental spillage to a minimum.

  2. Create a candy dish. Whether you re-decorate your bowl or keep it the same, the big change will be related to its purpose. Trade in your cornflakes for candy corn. Friends will love to dip their fingers into your new dish that cost you zilch.

  3. Fill your old bowl with new ideas. Write revelations and affirmations on small pieces of paper and place them in the bowl. When you're feeling out of sorts, pick out a few positive notes to get the boost you need to be your best.

  4. Keep your knickknacks under control. Change, cell phones, receipts and keys can clutter up any counter top. Good news! Storing all your odds and ends in a delightful old bowl can keep your guests from scoffing at your mess.

  5. Transform your bowl into Fido's dish. Don't worry about spending any money on your pup's water dish when you find an old bowl you wish to ditch. Your pet won't mind that it's used. He'll lap up the water just the same. Perhaps you can use the money you saved to buy him a bone!
