Unknown.

What do you do with the waxy plastic bag your breakfast cereal comes in when the box is empty? It doesn't matter that you're a recycling, composting dynamo-most curbside recycling programs just won't take 'em. Or, in the words of my waste-management representative, "It's garbage, ma'am."

You can give a liner a second lease on life, however, by using a pair of scissors to open it up into a flat piece of wax paper. As long as you don't shove it into an oven or run a hot iron over it, it's an excellent zero-cost alternative to the store-bought kind.

Other potential uses: Storing portions of frozen meat, for rolling out cookie dough, as sandwich bags, or even as pooper-scoopers for your pooch. :: Better Budgeting
