Moving house is a big enough disruption to your life without the perennial question of ">where to get boxes. Sure you can buy new ones, but that can get pricey,and who wants to spend money on boxes that you're only going to use once? And then what do you do with them afterwards? Yes, you can recycle them, but unless you've dropped them, they probably are in perfectly serviceable condition. Remember: Reuse beats recycle in the 3-Rs triangle. Essentially it's an online forum just for finding people who are giving away boxes post-move and picking up ones for yourself. Pretty neat idea really. Craigslist also probably suffices, but it is convenient to have something dedicated to it.
In full disclosure, I haven't actually used the service yet... though I am planning a move shortly, which is how this service came across my desk. A quick perusal shows boxes listed by size and number, so you know what you're getting yourself into. Listings are currently available in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Jersey City, Chicago, and San Francisco
