These homemade puffy paints may not stand up to use on T-shirts, but they'll still provide oodles of rainy day fun for budding Picassos of all ages. Melissa Goodsell details her nontoxic, microwave-based recipe on her blog:

DIY Puffy Paint

1 tbs self-raising flour
A few little drops of food coloring
1 tbs salt

1. Add some water to make a nice smooth paste.

2. Paint away on a nice thick sheet of cardboard.

3. Microwave the design on high for 10 to 30 seconds until the paint puffs up, and everything is nice and dry.
