Instead of spending over a hundred bucks on a manufactured sled, consider building your own with that old pair of skis gathering dust in the garage. Simply screw your skis to the bottom of a plastic tub sled, then glue some padding material to the inside of the tub to cushion your derrière.

Just one downside: You can't make any turns, although Out Your Backdoor suspects that angling the skis slightly inward could do the trick. Okay, so you won't be impressing anyone at Aspen, but this just might be the ticket to a bit of backyard shenanigans on a slow snow day. ::Out Your Backdoor
