Green-living expert Danny Seo dramatically transformed an old scratched-up table, which he inherited with the house he just purchased, simply by applying iron-on veneer tape to its surface. He writes in his blog:

This material could not be easier to work with. Lay it down, place a hot iron on top, glue melts and adheres to the surface. I chose a bunch of the wood veneer "tape" in a variety of widths and colors.

The veneer kit also came with a trimming tool so Seo was able to get a perfect straight edge. To finish the table, we recommend brushing on a low- or zero-Volatile Organic Compounds clear top coat, such as AFM Safecoat Polyureseal or Ecoprocote's soy-based Poly-Soy TopCoat. Easy? We think so. ::Daily Danny
