Laundry Liquid Soap: How to get the Last Drop Out

Might seem insignificant, but it all adds up.

Small things add up. It's even worse when they are small things that we never even thought about, because at least when we're aware of a problem, there's a chance we'll fix it.

One of these small things is the waste of liquid laundry soap. Don't laugh! If you consider that most liquid soap bottles are made in such a way that between 1 and 3 ounces are very hard to get to because of the recessed spout, and you multiply that by the hundreds of millions of liquid soap bottles used each year just in the USA, that means that there are literally tons of perfectly good soap that ends up in landfills or recycling facilities instead of on people's clothes.

But we have a trick for you! There's a way to get the last bit of soap out, thus saving you a bit of money and helping nature.

It's very simple when you think about it: You simply put water in the soap bottle, and then pour it into your washing machine. The soap will dissolve in the water and most of it will come out with the water.

Tell your friends, spread the word.

You can also make your own laundry soap and use a few tips to give your detergent a boost. But if you use store-bought soap, make sure it is biodegradable, phosphate free, and works in cold water (to save energy and money).
