Jodi Murphy of TV's Total Wrecklamation gifts us with a novel way to reuse those unwanted presents in this Planet Green Holiday Highlight. She suggests that you take those gauche earrings that your aunt Agnes gave you and decorate the tree with them. Check out the accompanying video if you'd like to know more.

This is a great idea for anyone who is over-gifted this holiday season. Here's another idea. Every year, most of us receive a large selection of gift cards. After the money is spent, we are stuck with a small, plastic rectangle that has no use. It just ends up burning energy at the recycling center or in a landfill. Why not turn your old gift card into a brand-new ornament.

One of the ways to do this would be to get some red and green construction paper and some school glue. Cover the gift card in red paper. Then cut out two Christmas trees and glue them on the front and the back of the card. You can use other colors of construction paper to create ornaments for your little Christmas card.

Break out the glitter. Dab glitter onto the appropriate places for an extra sparkle. Other popular gift-card-turned-ornament designs could include Santa Claus, reindeer or brightly colored packages. Whatever your decorating decision, just try to have fun.
