g word mattress recycling video

On average, we spend one third of our lives sleeping. For most of us, that means a lot of quality time with a mattress. But mattresses don't last forever. In fact, most only last about eight years. So what happens to all these old, discarded, mattress?

In this video, Todd Sutton, the Waste Sleuth, visits DR3 Mattress Recycling, one of only four facilities in the world that recycles old mattresses. After disassembling the old mattresses the company finds a way to reuse or recycle all of the parts. The break down at DR3 takes less than ten minutes but a mattress left in a landfill can take decades to decompose. Clearly, it is worth seeking out a mattress recycling center.
