Each episode of Supper Club with Tom Bergeron is shot from a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) home in Venice, Calif. Talented green architects teamed with green builders to construct the LEED home both to educate the public and to use the proceeds from its sale to build other homes like it. If you're thinking of building your own home, here are some examples of ways to create an eco-friendly home.

Build with a better wood. The Supper Club house is constructed with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and recycled wood. In order to earn FSC certification, wood producers must abide by a set of principles and criteria concerning their environmental impact and forest management practices.

Let the sunshine in. Solar paneling on the Supper Club home can provide electricity for a family of four for an entire year. This means no electricity bill.

Cut back on water waste. The Supper Club bathroom is equipped with low flow faucets which can save over a gallon of water per minute. The bathrooms are also equipped with dual flush toilets that allow you to choose from both a high volume flush and a low volume flush depending on how much water is needed. This can save up to 18,000 gallons of water per year.

Reuse and recycle. The Supper Club bathroom is also equipped with recycled porcelain tile.

Look for "high efficiency". The Supper Club home is equipped with Energy Star high efficiency appliances, including the washer and dryer, the dishwasher, and the refrigerator.
