We all know and love “Living with Ed” star Ed Begley, Jr. But do we know what his latest green shenanigans are? Word on the street is that Begley has recently hit the street—on his two-wheeler, of course!

The infamous eco-celebrity is on a five city bike tour this Thanksgiving holiday week to draw awareness to his latest campaign called LOOK UP.

Cruising through the chilly streets of Chicago, Cleveland, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and ending in New York City, the gracious greenie will be meeting with local government officials, businesses and everyday citizens to share and encourage practical energy saving tips.

His biggest tip of all: Outfit your home with a programmable thermostat that runs in conjunction with a ceiling fan. This simple feat can save as much as $500 on energy bills!

“Ceiling fans and thermostats are affordable, energy-saving tools that most of us already have in our homes,” says Begley. “Given the challenging economy and rising energy costs, it’s crucial to educate America about this easy, energy-saving strategy that requires no sacrifice.”

With rising heating costs and a chilly winter ahead, we can all use as many energy—and cash—savings tips as possible, can’t we?

Head over to www.changehappensindegrees.org to find out how to take Ed’s wise words of advice.
