If you’ve got an old pile of books lying around, you could of course donate or sell them—or—you could break out your sweet DIY skills and transform the dust-collectors into sneaky, inconspicuous music speakers just as Instructables suggests.

The super handy and resourceful site lays out nine simple steps to turning six hardcover books into Invisible Book Speakers. Granted, as the project commenters note, the sound quality will be far from superior but good enough.

So choose which books you’re willing to hack, grab a set of speakers from a broken CD player and get crackin'.
