Find a Laundry Detergent Bottle

Locate your laundry detergent bottle. Wash it out—repeatedly. Watering your plants with soap bubbles won't exactly yield organic produce, so make sure all of the soap is gone from the bottle before continuing with this project.

Heat a screwdriver. Do this by placing it over a flame.

Melt Holes in Cap

Use the heated screwdriver to melt holes through the cap.

Fill Bottle With Water

Fill the bottle with water, screw the cap back onto the bottle, and water your thirsty little plants.


This project is a great way to reuse your laundry detergent bottle and closely monitor your water consumption simultaneously.
