Erin from Unclutterer reminds those of us who are on clutter-busting, downsizing campaigns-I personally managed to fill six Goodwill-bound shopping bags this weekend-not to forget to look under our couches, beds, dressers, table skirts, and anywhere else that embodies the "out of sight, out of mind" maxim.

If you're anything like me, the hidden spaces lurking in your homes will bring to mind another famous quotation: "Abandon hope all ye who enter here." But excavating long-buried possessions has its rewards: I was about to run out and buy a stick of glue when I found one rolled beneath my desk. You might unearth some crayons, knitting needles, lip balm, scarves, toys, or other items you thought needed replacing.

Erin adds:

If the areas under your furniture are clear of clutter, check the spaces behind your furniture. Have books, pens, or other items fallen out of sight? Has a water cup rolled back behind your headboard?

Have you managed to exhume from your not-so-distant past lately? Tell me all about in the comments below. ::Unclutter
