Decorating your home the green way doesn't necessarily have to cost you tons of money. Thrifty environmentalists listen up. Here are some innovative ways to decorate frugally:
- Reuse your old wine bottles. Don't just throw them away, wine bottles are often really pretty pieces that deserve to be put to good use. Use them as vases or melt them down and hang them on the wall. Find an artist in your area with a kiln and melt down your left over wine bottles. Add a picture hook to the back and you can hang them up on the wall.
- Frame your old record http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/record-label.htm sleeves. Your old vinyl albums say a lot about you. If records were before your time, dig into your parents' supply. They are the perfect addition to your wall space because they are uniformly shaped and often colorful and creative.
- Frame your old maps. If you're a globetrotter like me, surrounding yourself with travel memorabilia brings you back into balance. Dig up your old maps and frame them.
- Pick out economical plants. Plants green your home, literally. Ok that was cheesy but they really do clean the toxins out of the air extremely well. They also add life to your home more than most any other decor.
