Step 1: Off with their feet

Start by turning the socks inside out. Line the tops of the socks up and cut off the feet of the socks. You'll want the upper sections to be the same length, so and trim accordingly. Obviously, the total length you need will depend on the size of your camera—measure your camera's length and add three inches.

Step 2: Quick Stitch

Sew the socks together along the bottom edge. Turn the bigger of the two socks (if they're somewhat different sizes) right side out so that the socks are nestled together.

Step 3: All Buttoned Up

Lay the socks flat and center your button about two inches below the top edge and sew it to the outer sock. On the reverse side, center a loop of ribbon along the top edge and sew it in place. The loop should be just big enough to fit around the button on the opposite side. Once the button and ribbon are in place, fold at the top edge and fasten the ribbon over the button.

Slip your camera inside and you're ready to go. Oh, and as an added bonus, the handy "pocket" between the two layers of socks is perfect for extra memory cards, batteries or your camera's USB cable.
