Build a Fence with Biocomposite Wood

Save on trees and Band Aids.

Let's say you want to build a fence or a porch. What material would you use? I don't know you, but I am going to guess that you would use wood. Makes sense. Wood is a strong material, organic, pleasant to look at. Whoa, there! Don't go to the lumber yard just yet. There is a new porch and fence material on the market that might be a bit greener than wood.

It's called biocomposite wood. It's made from wheat straw, an agricultural waste product and recycled # 2 plastic. Biocomposite wood is literally made from two types of garbage that are turned into a sturdy and attractive building material.

Biocomposite wood requires very little maintenance. You won't have to stain or varnish your fence. You can pick out the color you like, and it saves on those trees that everyone likes so much. Another benefit of biocomposite wood is that it won't burn as easily (great for Southern California) and it won't give you splinters like real wood. You'll save a fortune on adhesive strips.
