Bottle caps can be pretty pesky. You're not supposed to recycle bottles with them on (at least in NYC), so you're forced to throw them away if you don’t figure out a way to reuse them. Well, in an effort to not throw anything away that doesn't need to be thrown away, I've learned to utilize my bottle caps for tons of different craft projects. Here are just a few ideas that maybe you can adopt yourself to reduce your own amount of waste.

Bottle caps can be used for a lot of things. For example, if you hammer them out so that they are flat like discs, you'll be surprised at the ways in which they can be used. You can use caps of two different colors to make your own set of Checkers. You can nail a hole through the tops of flattened caps in order to turn them into necklaces, bracelets, or earrings. If you need new poker chips... you now know how to make them... with bottle caps, of course!

And still, one of my favorite methods of reusing bottle cops is the great art of mosaic and/or tiling. Why buy mosaic pieces or pay for tiles when you can use flattened bottle caps instead? This makes for a totally unique and eco look.
