Imagine a world where a frequency caused your ex to stop calling you or made your boss give you a raise. It would be a fantastic world, indeed! There is an item on the market that claims to do such a thing but with moles. It is a peg that generates a frequency that supposedly deters burrowing mammals from tunneling through your petunia patch.
People who garden or maintain a variety of plants often have trouble with burrowing rodents. Moles, voles and gophers can destroy lawns, flowerbeds and even golf courses. Just look what happened in Caddyshack.
Gardeners spend fortunes trying to get rid of these underground pests, and green gardeners want to do it in a way that doesn't hurt the animal or the environment. One of the most popular methods of burrowing-rodent control is the vibrating peg. These pegs are supposed to vibrate at a frequency that is uncomfortable to moles. On hearing this frequency, the moles will go dig a hole somewhere else.
The companies that produce these products claim that the pegs are a surefire and green way to get moles and other burrowing mammals out of your garden. They even make a solar-powered version. Many gardeners who keep green in mind might want to purchase the peg as an environmentally friendly pest deterrent.
The sad truth is that there is really no good science behind the frequency-generating peg. Even the humane society won't back this thing. It is a scam that wastes our money and resources. Green gardeners should stay away. In fact, most sound/vibration-based pest deterrents are only capable of shaking money out of your wallet.
