We recently saw Mandy Ingber and Jennifer Aniston on Hollywood Green discussing their healthy work out. While yoga in itself seems to have environmentally friendly connotations, there are still ways to make your yoga work out even more green. For example, there are tons of eco-friendly yoga products out there that you should be aware of. Here are just a few:

  • The Jute Yoga Mat. This yoga mat is woven out of sustainable and plant-based materials. The product is biodegradable and makes for a totally durable and strong surface to work on.

  • Organic Mat Spray. Yoga is a great form of exercise and because of that, sweat is often times involved. When sweat is involved, as you probably already know, so is... stink. This spray is made from grapefruit seed extract, a blend of essential oils, etc.

  • Bamboo Practice Blocks. If you're going to practice, why not do it in an eco-friendly way? Bamboo practice blocks are just as functional as the wooden ones, but they are much better for the environment.

  • Eco-Friendly Yoga Grips. Yoga grips are like tiny little mitts that go over your hands and your feet so that you can practice on almost all surfaces. Look for ones that are made without chlorides, latex, and PVC.

There are plenty of other eco-friendly yoga accessories where these came from. The key is to do a little bit of research. By doing this, you can easily make one of the most beneficial forms of exercise even more beneficial for the environment.

This post was inspired by Planet Green's show, Hollywood Green.
