The excessive usefulness of vinegar marches on like a tart and zesty juggernaut. On some days, I believe that there is no end to the goodness that vinegar can provide. It's very useful as a cleaner and much greener than its chemical-laden counterparts. Vinegar can be used outdoors, on the garden and in the car. It can also be used at work. Here are some suggestions.

  1. Soda Stain Removal
Keep some vinegar in your desk at work. If you spill soda on yourself at lunchtime, as you are apt to do, you can get that cola out of your clothing by sponging distilled vinegar on the splotch. This only works with cotton and cotton polyester.

  2. Deodorizing a stinky lunchbox Putting a vinegar-soaked slice of bread in your lunchbox overnight will rid it of the offending odor.

  3. Microwave Cleaner
Tired of those awful Hot Pocket stains in your office microwave? You can clean them off with vinegar. Mix half cup water and half cup vinegar. Boil it in microwave. Wipe the surfaces clean. Also removes odor.

  4. Get rid of Mineral Deposits on Coffee Makers
Another common office appliance is the coffee maker. You can clean that as well.

From Vinegar Tips:

Fill the water reservoir with 1 cup or more of white distilled vinegar and run it through a whole cycle. Run it once or twice more with plain water to rinse clean. (Check the owners' manual first.)

  1. Clean Your Computer with Vinegar
Check out this video on how to clean your computer with vinegar.

  2. Remove Ink Stains
Accidentally scribble on your desk? Apply vinegar to the error and watch it disappear.

  3. Clean Scissors
Gunky scissors will be gunky no longer when dipped in distilled vinegar and wiped clean.
