Turning down your air-conditioner is an easy and obvious way to save energy. However, there may be aesthetic benefits as well. Air-conditioning puts cool, dry air into your home. Your skin loves moisture and cold air has less moisture than warm air.

Air-conditioners lower the relative humidity of your home, robbing your pores of their much needed moisture. Climates with the most moisture in the air have been proven beneficial to your skin and air conditioners create an indoor climate with little moisture.

Studies have found that the long-term use of air-conditioning can result in dry skin, accompanied by itchiness and rashes. Skin also becomes more susceptible to allergens.

From Mayo Clinic:

Itchy skin that isn't accompanied by other obvious skin changes, such as a rash, is most often caused by dry skin (xerosis). Dry skin usually results from environmental factors that you can wholly or partially control. These include hot or cold weather with low humidity levels, long-term use of air conditioning or central heating.

So turning down your air conditioner will not only save energy, it will also keep your skin properly hydrated. Your energy bill will be lower and so will your lotion bill.
