Guests at Tom Bergeron's dinner parties on The Supper Club with Tom Bergeron touch on numerous environmentally pressing issues over an eco-meal prepared by the episode's celebrity chef. If you don't have time to plan an entire green dinner party but want your get together to feature green foods, why not host a chocolate tasting?

Gathering high quality organic and fair trade chocolates is as easy as strolling down the candy aisle at your local organic market. You'll find an abundance of responsibly produced chocolates from all over the world. Try pairing your chocolates with organic wines.

Here are a few tips for hosting a chocolate tasting:

  • Ensure your chocolate is at room temperature.

  • Go from the lightest to the darkest chocolate (look at the percent cacao).

  • Don't try too many, keep it to a very reasonable number, about five or six different varieties.

  • Pair darker chocolates with richer fuller wines like Black Muscat.

Try these insanely delicious varieties of chocolate:

Green and Black's Hazelnut and Currant Chocolate Bar is just one of Green and Black's mouth watering line of gourmet chocolate bars. Other options include Ginger, Espresso, Mint, Maya Gold, and Cherry. These are the kind of chocolates that you savor as they slowly melt away in your mouth until they are little more than a tiny pellet on your tongue.

Lake Chaplain Organic Milk Chocolate, Sea Salt, and Almond Chocolates Squares are an ounce of pure chocolate gold. Similar to eating a chocolate covered pretzel, the sea salt intermixed in every bite highlights the creamy chocolate goodness with the added crunch of an almond. Also try Dark Spicy Aztec.

Vosges Goji Exotic Chocolate Candy Bar is the chicest chocolate bar on the market today. Jumping on the goji berry bandwagon, the antioxidant laden sweet treat includes goji berries, pink Himalayan salt, deep milk chocolate, and 41 percent cacao. Goji berries have been used for over 6,000 years by herbalists in China for their reported ability to protect the liver, help eyesight, promote longevity, and improve sexual function. Also try the Barcelona Exotic Candy Bar made with hickory smoked almonds, Fleur de Sel grey sea salt, and deep milk chocolate or the Calindia Exotic Candy Bar with cardamom, organic walnuts, dried plums, and Venezuelan dark chocolate.
