Suhyun is my brother and one of my best friends. Together, we make the SuPaks, the Two Sus, the Two Paks...he's my brother and my roommate and my closest ally (awwwww!). He's also one of the most eco-intelligent people I know. He was talking about Earthships before Dwell magazine, before the fancy TV shows. Worm poo? We've apparently been worm pooing for years. (I had no idea what those bottles of "tea" were on our patio!) If there's a strange article about some fringe eco-movement, product, or group, he's already got the Wiki and the Digg posts going. He's my secret green weapon; I take all the credit...Hey, I'm a big sis, I'm allowed. The other night we got takeout, and found some pretty surprising news...Here's what he had to say about it:

"The other day my sister and I got take-out and took a picture of our meal.

Pop quiz: Heres a list of all of the items which came with our delivery. Which of these can you recycle in NYC?

  1. black plastic tray

  2. little plastic sauce container

  3. styrofoam soup container

  4. plastic spoon

  5. wooden chopsticks

  6. clear plastic salad container

  7. napkins

  8. plastic bag

  9. paper bag

Answer: The paper bag, nothing else in this photo can be recycled! Shocking."

Big Sister here again... When my brother pointed this out to me, I was shocked. We checked and double checked the NYC website because I couldn't believe we were wrong, and, more shockingly, I'VE BEEN SEPARATING MY TRASH ALL THESE YEARS FOR WHAT?! Please tell me there are greener cities out there... Are you living in one? I'd love to know!
