Over 2 million folks across the country deep-fried their turkey this Thanksgiving, and, while many folks swear it's the best turkey you'll ever eat, cleaning up can be troublesome. With 3-to-5 gallons of used oil on your hands, disposing of it isn't as easy as just chucking it in the garbage. And don't even think about pouring it down the drain!
Instead, we recommend you recycle it into biofuel (or make your own). Companies like Grecycle in Tuscon, Arizona and Biodiesel Industries in Dallas, Texas, along with an increasing number of municipalities, such as the cities of Loveland, Colo. and San Diego, Calif. now help residents recycle their used cooking oil. A quick Google search can tell you if you can recycle used cooking oil in your area.
