The only thing more difficult than switching your meals over to the organic side of things is trying to find organic 'to go' foods, if you ask me. It's easy to prepare something deliciously organic when you're in the comfort of your own kitchen and time isn't of the essence, but what about when you're out on the go and you're in a rush? This is when matters get slightly pressing, but luckily there are some solid solutions for this common dilemma.

Carrying some small, portable organic options in your backpack, purse, or briefcase is the answer, I find.

Here are some great options that won't weigh you down and they'll help you keep a clear conscience about your on-the-go snacking.

Nature's Path Hemp Plus Chewy Granola Bars
They're delicious. They have low sodium. They have raisins. They're perfect! Granola bars have quite the convenient shelf life, so you can throw a couple in your bag for the week and be good to go without having to stop and worry about whether or not they're still good to eat.

Fruit
Granted, you can't keep fruit laying around in your bag for long without it going bad. But grabbing a piece of organic fruit from the grocery store in the morning to hang onto for the day will definitely make you smile when you need that boost from a snack in the afternoon. Some fruits go bad sooner than others. If you want to pick the fruit bound to last the longest, try apples, oranges, and pomegranates.

Nuts
People tend to really underestimate how much nuts can fill up the stomach. They're a great source of protein and definitely can get me through any hunger attacks that plague me during the day when I'm out of the house. Tierra Farms makes some great organic nuts, but there are plenty of other companies, as well.

Remember: You don't have to compromise your organic diet just because you're on the go a lot!
