I can't lie. One of my worst vices is caffeine. 100% addicted to caffeine: sugar rushes, jolts of energy, and very long to-do lists. But the obvious dawned on me a while ago:energy drinks can't be good for my body. Why should I devote so much of my attention to eating well and exercising if I'm going to pourtoxins into my body? It just doesn't make sense. I started doing some research and figured out ways to supplement my energy drinks with healthier alternativesand I lived through the withdrawal awake enough to share with you:
- Stonyfield Farm's Shift Energy Drink. Apparently the people over at Stonyfield caught on to the dangers of the regular energy drink before I did. They put together this awesome organic energy drink called Shift that's 99 percent fat free and full of ingredients that provide actual nutrition for your body.
- Guayaki's Organic Yerba Mate Drink. It's totally organic, kosher, and vegan. It boosts your energy and it's good for you.
- Carrot, Apple, and Honey Smoothie. You can always make a ‘better' energy drink yourself at home. Apples have a shocking amount of stored energy, as well as carrots and honey. Blend them together for this energy booster of a drink.
