Unless you've been in a coma or a self-imposed media blackout for the past couple of years, you know that Burt's Bees has been snapped up by bleach-loving Clorox, and that Dagoba Organic Chocolate now belongs to the multinational Hershey corporation. With innumerable acquisitions and mergers happening by the minute, it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of who owns whom, and whether your favorite small organic business is still preserving its indie cred.

The March/April 2008 issue of Good attempts to make sense of this tofu-dog-eat-tofu-dog world, with a spread of the food-producing giants behind many popular organic and all-natural snacks. Personally, I haven't been able to chug down a single bottle of Odwalla since I found out it belonged to Coca Cola. Naked Juice isn't any better, for this picky consumer anyway-it's the property of Pepsi. (I know, it's time to get reacquainted with my blender.)

How has learning who the men (and women) behind the curtain changed how you've viewed your favorite brands? ::Good
