Although toothpaste isn't all that complicated to make yourself, most people I know wind up simply buying their toothpaste from the store. The greener thing to do, in most cases, is just to make some eco-friendly toothpaste yourself, but if you're going to buy some instead, it's important that you squeeze the most out of each tube that you buy as possible.
With just two Q-tips and two rubber bands, or elastic of some sort, you can make a nifty little bathroom tool that will help you to get the most out of your toothpaste from now on. And the most toothpaste you save, the greener and cleaner your teeth will be.
How to make a toothpaste-saver from Q-tips and elastic:

This could be from rubber bands, hair ties, or any other elastic source you can come up with.

Fasten the ends together with the elastic, tightly.
As you slowly use your toothpaste, use this tool to press the toothpaste from the bottom of the tube up to the top. This will help ensure that you're getting the most out of each toothpaste tube. It's a green project that's green to make. Bingo!
