Today is the Chinese New Year and we move from the Year of the Rat to the Year of the Ox. Babies born in the year of the ox will mature to be stable and persevering, obtaining prosperity through hard work as well as being patient, strong and responsible. Sounds to me like those born in the Year of the Ox will have all of the traits necessary to get through a recession. So all of you people born in a previous Ox year (newly minted President Obama being one of them), it's time for you to shine.
There are so many recipes in the Planet Green archives for Chinese food, I thought I would pull some of them out to help you make your own Chinese New Year banquet. Many of these are vegetarian or vegan. Check out setting up your pantry for Chinese food, and then you are ready to get cooking!
