It started with the idea that tap water was not safe to drink. Water quality. At least, I think that is how it started. My girlfriends and I used to laugh about the idea of buying drinking water, so ridiculous it could never happen. Sort of like paying $4.00 for a gallon of gas.

Now everyone seems hooked on bottled water and as research indicates, bottled water may not be better for you than your local tap water. In fact, 25% or more bottled water comes right out of the tap. The transportation of plastic bottles increases global warming pollution and only 12% of these bottles get recycled.

It may be time to start drinking tap water again. To find out how healthy your tap water is, look up your zip code in the national tap water database. And you may want to get a water filter for your home. Eventually, we will be able to laugh about not buying water.
