WATCH VIDEO: UK's Worst Flood ever, Carbon-Sucking Nanotubes, and Fresh Air in the Garden State?

UK's worst flood on record (11/24)
Cumbria bore the brunt of the heaviest rainfall in British history over the weekend. Meteorologists recorded 12 inches of rain in a 24 hour period -- the highest level measured in England since records began.

Engineers are currently examining 1800 bridges in Cumbria after six collapsed on the rivers Cocker and Derwent.

Carbon-sucking nanotubes
A major breakthrough in nanotechnology by Lawrence Livermore national labs may solve 2 of the worlds greatest challenges ? sequestering carbon and purifying water.

Their technology, now licensed by Porifera, enables tiny carbon fibers 1/50,000 the thickness of a human to attract & trap specific molecules, providing a potentially inexpensive way to permanently sequester carbon dioxide.
