5. Invisible Tree House
Swedish architects Tham & Videgard have pulled off the impossible—six mirrored cubes set high in the trees—that form the stunning Tree Hotel.

Situated 40 miles south of the Arctic Circle, you'd be forgiven for thinking that these images are merely computer-generated eye candy. The glass units feature sustainably harvested wood interiors, sport electric radiant floor heating and a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly, incineration toilet.

4. Spherical Tree House
Free Spirit's handcrafted spheres are suspended from the trees like pendants from a web of rope.

Built in the west coast rainforest of Vancouver Island, Canada by inventor Tom Chudleigh, the spherical tree houses were designed to co-exist with the natural habitat and sway with the breeze. The wooden interior takes its cues from sailing boats complete with loft beds and circular windows.

3. Vietnamese Tree House
Hang Nga's crazy tree house belongs to the daughter of an ex-president.

Guests from around the world are drawn to this Lewis Carroll meets Gaudi hotel attraction which is cleverly built to make you believe you are inside a tree. The interior of the hotel is equally mind warping, filled with unexpected twists and turns, narrow hallways, bizarre rooms and dotted with strangely shaped windows.

2. Geodesic Tree House
Tree houses get a geometric spin with an eco friendly tree sanctuary called the O2 Sustainability Tree House.

Furniture designer Dustin Felder was inspired by Buckminster Fuller's infamous geodesic dome. Felder discovered that by following Bucky's lead, he could use less material and construct a more stable structure than that of the 'traditional' tree house.

They've built countless tree house of all shapes and sizes—from cozy work spaces to spacious family homes. The company only works with demolition wood or FSC certified materials and never harm any trees in making of their breath-taking abodes.
