Welcome to Planet 100 for July 22, 2010. Here's what we're covering today.

WATCH VIDEO: China Oil Spill

China Oil Spill

China officially doubled the size of the oil spill caused by a pipeline explosion and fire last Friday that send tons of crude oil spilling into the sea at the port city of Dalian.

China’s largest reported oil spill is now 165 square miles, but still just a fraction of the size of the BP oil spill in Gulf. More than 23 tons of oil-eating bacteria and dozens of oil-skimming vessels are being used to remove the slick, which is posing a severe threat to sea life and water quality.

Soldiers and residents have been involved in the clean-up effort. Sadly one clean-up worker has drowned, his body coated in crude oil.
