For country music mega star Taylor Swift, the Tennessee devastation has hit too close to home. Recently, she donated $500,000 to a local telethon raising money for flood victims.

“It was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen,” said Swift. “I was at my house in Hendersonville, we were staring out the window, thinking it didn’t seem like rain. It just seemed like something in a movie. It was really emotional for me because those are the streets I learned to drive on. People’s houses are just ruined. It was so heartbreaking to see that in my town, the place that I call home, and the place that I feel most safe.” She went on to say, “I just send my love to my friends and my neighbors who got hit harder than I did.”

Others stars like Kenny Chesney are encouraging people to get involved in helping their fellow man by donating to the Middle Tennessee Red Cross. The storm has devastated the home to so many country legends, damaging the Grand Ole Opry House and the Opryland Hotel, after drenching the city and surrounding areas with 13 inches of rain in two days.

Additionally, on June 22, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw will host "Nashville Rising," a benefit concert at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. The lineup includes a host of music legends including Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, Lynyrd Skynrd, Brooks & Dunn, LeAnn Rimes, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Jason Aldean, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, and Luke Bryan.

Bonnaroo has donated $10,000 to the Middle Tennessee Red Cross and now through Sunday, June 6 Bonnaroo will be coordinating donations, through the Bonnaroo Works Fund, and matching them up to $30,000. All donations will go to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Donate to RedCross.org or text RED CROSS to 90999 to help the victims of this tragedy.

Watch the video of the devastation. Nashville is a proud city and this video shows it.
