Need a break from studying? The Campus Consciousness Tour will be spreading sounds from Passion Pit in October to college students across the country. And, the ghouls from "Trick or Vote" will be part of the information party.
If you're not familiar, the Campus Consciousness Tour is staged by Reverb, a nonprofit that greens concert tours and venues. You might remember them from this summer's Green Music Group Challenge, or the last campus tour, which featured Drake and Ben Harper.
Passion Pit has been on a roll, completing two world tours and selling more than 300,000 copies of their debut record, "Manners," in less than two years. They call it Second Wave synthpop.
Passion Pit has worked with Reverb to make their tour rider more eco-friendly, and is using biodegradable and recyclable products on the bus and backstage. The band performed at the last Earth Day Network Climate Rally in Washington, D.C.
Dates for the Passion Pit campus shows are as follows:
- 10/20/10 University of Illinois
- 10/21/10 Northern Illinois University
- 10/22/10 Vanderbilt University
- 10/29/10 University of North Carolina Chapel Hill
- 10/30/10 University of North Carolina Greensboro
College goers who come out for the shows are likely to run into a costumed member of "Trick or Vote," a monstrous canvassing effort planned for this Halloween.
"Its democracy at its spookiest," they say. "Help scare out the vote!"
