READ MORE ABOUT:
Pamoja Penda is a music and arts festival that aims to connect communities in Atlanta and Africa, and will benefit the Ugandan American Partnership Organization's (UAPO) work with refugee communities in Northern Uganda.
The festival will feature live music on a solar-powered stage, documentary films related to the theme of the festival (Upbeat, Mothers of a Nation, and Changing the Game), a Lose the Shoes barefoot soccer tournament that will support Grassroots Soccer's mission of providing African youth with the knowledge, skills and support to live HIV-free, and a sustainable arts & crafts market featuring recycled paper bead necklaces, eco-friendly, socially conscious clothing, and more.
The fun starts at 2pm on Sunday, March 28 in Atlanta, Georgia, and 100 percent of the proceeds from the event (tickets are $30 each) will benefit UAPO's efforts to help Northern Uganda rebuild and recover from the damage inflicted by war. "Pamoja" means "together" in Swahili. Get your tickets for Pamoja Penda today, for yourself if you're in Atlanta—or for a friend who is, if you're not. Tickets available at www.xorbia.com/tickets/uapo or www.pamojapenda.org.
