Kidneythieves have recorded a new, independent industrial album using a 100 percent solar powered studio. And there's no mention of anyone waking up in a bathtub of ice, either.

The new disc (now for sale) is called "Trypt0fanatic." That's a made-up word. The band calls it "an image of light and dark intertwined, chaos and peace."

Songs include "Freeky People" (as in ones that listen to Sen. Inhofe?)

"We are the freeky people that make the world go around," say the lyrics.

"We take the stuck up posers and status-quosers and we burn them in the ground."

Oh, sounds more like a dark-green mantra.

Freeky People by kidneythieves

"This is the time of our lives (you freeky people!)." goes the chorus.

"Let out the freek inside (get freeky, people!)"

On that note, Kidneythieves also is printing its CDs using recycled paper and relying on local vendors for merchandise sales.

Band members Free Dominguez and Bruce Somers also compost what they eat.

Does it matter to you how your favorite artists lead their lives? Have you ever picked up a disc (hint hint) just because an artist is trying to do the right thing?
